Visions of Vermont Fine Art Galleries at 100 Main Street in Jeffersonville will be celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with an Open House from Saturday 5/24 through Monday 5/26. The galleries will be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit with renowned local artists Eric Tobin, Karen Winslow, and perhaps a few other master painters who are in the area over the weekend painting our gorgeous landscapes.
On Monday, after the Memorial Day Parade and Service, we will be giving tours of the buildings that Harvey Varnum, a founder of the Rock of Ages Quarry, generously willed to the Town of Cambridge. It was Varnum who used his engineering skills to get a passable route via Smugglers' Notch and who used his Italian stone cutters to cut the memorial rock at the head of Main Street. We will be passing on even more of the history that we have learned about this former philanthropist, with such unique ties to our community and Memorial Day!
Stop by and see us,
Jane & Terry Shaw
