The Special Olympics Vermont Penguin Plunge is a beloved winter event where participants raise funds to take a dip in Lake Champlain, and this year's event is coming up on Saturday, March 12th from 10am-2pm at the Burlington Waterfront! The Special Olympics Vermont Penguin Plunge supports a movement that works year-round to foster inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities by using the power of sport to showcase their gifts and abilities. Each year the event raises almost 40% of the Special Olympics Vermont operating budget, and its success is critical to the organization's ability to support a community of over 5,000 Vermonters.
