Winooski's 100th birthday on March 7 is fast-approaching! The Centennial Celebration Committee has many events planned and today we want to tell you more about our Historical Walking Tour & Social Media Contest.
Head outside for a self-guided tour of historic places around Winooski. From the Winooski Block, to the site of the former Central Vermont Railroad Station, Winooski is full of interesting stories. Pickup a free pamphlet that includes a short description of all 18 locations at: City Hall, the library, the senior center, the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum, the Winooski Historical Society, or the O'Brien Community Center. You can also take the tour right from home! Visit our website to see an interactive Google Earth map, see photos, and listen to an audio description of each location. The tour was created in partnership between the Centennial Celebration Committee, the Winooski Historical Society and the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum.
Social media contest: While on the tour, take a photo of your pamphlet and tag @winooskivt for your chance to win Centennial merchandise!
