This month's Burlington Police Commission meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 starting at 6pm, remotely via Zoom (link below).
This month, the Commission is honored to have Chief Norma Hardy, Brattleboro Police Department to discuss issues related to race and policing, police reform, and as well as her own experience as the first Black and female police chief in Vermont.
In addition, two sub-committees will be updating the Commission on their work reviewing/revising several Department policies, including the complaint policy and policies related to police interactions with persons with diminished capacities and persons with disabilities.
Further, we will take this time to update the community on the plans for a mental health summit, whose goal is to bring community partners (mental health organizations and law enforcement) together to develop a system of care for community members experience mental health challenges.
We welcome the community to our meeting and to provide their input.
