Though we may be still weeks (if not months) away from the first blooms of 2022, this time of year can be a great time to appreciate the distinct, intricate beauty of last year's wildflowers. Though they may lack the brilliancy of summer, when up close, you'll find that winter flowers more than make up for it in shape and texture.
Join us Sunday, February 27th at 1pm, for a ramble through the Roy Marsh as we discover a whole new world of botany, and enjoy some of the most delicate designs you'll find in the natural world!
This event is also the kickoff of the 2022 SHLT "Nature Rambles" series! These casual walks are designed as a fun, informal way to get together and explore and connect with beautiful natural places in the Islands.
Nature rambles are also collaborative - while SHLT staff and guest speakers will come prepared with a theme and a handful of neat things to check out along the trail, we respect and invite the knowledge that each of us bring to the table. The best rambles often feel more like a conversation than a lecture, because it's always more fun when everyone gets a chance to be involved. So please, come as you are, bring your questions, bring your enthusiasm, and let's go for a ramble!
