Dirt Road Theater is offering a spring playwriting class for ages 13-18, taught by Vermont playwright Tamar Cole! Visit our website for more information and to register: www.dirtroadtheater.com/classes

Sundays: Mar 6 – April 24, 4:00 – 5:30 PM @ United Church of Northfield
Sliding scale: $90-$120 | 8-week session
In this class, students will explore the process of creating a play, with the final goal of writing a five to ten minute play of their own. Through the study of professional short plays and the sharing of our own, we will discover the nuanced and exciting world of building a story for the stage! With exercises, prompts, and discussion, we will learn the basic structure and elements of a play and explore the process of building characters and scenes. We will discuss how to develop the plot, create and resolve conflict, and write dialogue. This class will culminate in a public reading of the students' plays, performed by actors from the DRT community.
