There is a Montpelier-Roxbury Board of School Directors meeting this Wednesday, February 16th, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Montpelier High School library or you can participate virtually via Zoom.

Board meetings always begin with a public comment opportunity at 6:30 pm.

At this week's meeting, the board will have the honor and opportunity to hear from 6 MRPS students seeking to fill 2 newly created Student Representative board positions. Our members deeply value student voice, and we are very excited about this outgrowth of the board. The selected Student Representatives will serve as liasions to the broader MRPS student population and provide updates to the board at the beginning of each meeting. While Student Representatives will not vote, they will provide the student perspective to inform board decisions and processes.

The board will also be considering a recent report from a state task force on pupil weighting in school budget allocations. This could constitute a significant shift in how schools are funded. In order to dig deeper into this topic, we will have a conversation with the Coalition for Vermont Student Equity at this upcoming meeting.
