Alabaster is easy to carve and stunning in its beauty and colors. This workshop at the Carving Studio & Sculpture Center will focus on direct carving and three dimensional thinking, finding the shape you imagine and carving it out. For beginners and experienced sculptors alike, you'll be guided through the process of seeing imagery in the rock, planning and shaping a form using traditional tools. Hand-carving techniques and safety practices will be demonstrated. (9 AM-5PM, bring a bag lunch) Fee: $175. Scholarships are available for this workshop.
