Attention Braintree Residents (Braintreeites? Braintrarians?!):
Town Meeting is back this year! Mark your calendars, study up on the Town Report and get ready for some boots-on-the-ground democracy: Braintree will hold in person Town Meeting on Saturday, February 26 beginning at 9am at the Braintree Town Hall (the one at 5379 VT-12A, not the Clerk's Office...). Masks will be required for attendance and a virtual attendance option will be offered with details available soon.
New to town? There's no better way to get to know your neighbors than by sharing in the long tradition of a "floor meeting". Make your voice heard, ask questions of the select board, vote on the business of the day. Town Meeting is democracy and local governance in action and is not to be missed.
What's that you say? You've got plans for attending Randolph Winterfest the same day as Town Meeting?! Fear not, Town Meeting Organizers have you covered! Town Meeting was pushed back from the usual hour of 10am to 9am in order to accommodate attendance at both important events.
Look for Town Reports and more details on the meeting to be available soon. Better yet, check the fancy new Braintree Town Website for updates: https://braintreevt.gov/voting/town-meeting-information/
Curious about Town Meeting in Vermont in general? The VT Sectary of State has put together a handy little booklet: https://outside.vermont.gov/dept/sos/Elections%20Division/election%20info%20and%20resources/[...]pdf
See you at Town Meeting!
