Ever wanted to learn how to meditate? Or perhaps you already have meditation practice, and want to practice with others? Karuna Community Meditation meets at Jenna's Promise every Sunday from 10-11:15am, and is open to new participants!
Who: open to people of all backgrounds and identifications. Total beginners and experienced meditation practitioners equally welcome.
What: guided meditation and mindfulness practices in many forms including walking meditation, sitting meditation, practices for increasing awareness of the body, and meditations focused on compassion and lovingkindness.
When: every Sunday from 10-11:15AM
Where: Jenna's House, 117 St. Johns Road, Johnson (wheelchair-accessible)
Why: A regular meditation practice can reduce stress and increase happiness, calm and wellbeing. It can also be a pathway to a fuller life, to deeper spiritual engagement and better ways of being in relationship with other humans, with the hope of liberation for the self and others.
Cost: all sessions are offered freely, with donations accepted
The group is led by Molly Zapp, who began practicing meditation 16 years ago, mostly in the Buddhist Theravadan vipassana/ insight tradition. Molly is currently training to become a mindfulness meditation teacher.
Sessions are inside, with plenty of space to spread out. Currently, all participants are required to wear masks.
Please show up a few minutes early, with cell phones silenced and put away.
Please feel free to email Molly Zapp with any questions at mollyzapp@live.com
