Hello Roxbury Community!
There is a Montpelier-Roxbury Board of School Directors meeting this Wednesday, February 2nd, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Roxbury Village School library or you can participate virtually via Zoom. Please feel welcomed to join us at the meeting; we convene in Roxbury every 4th meeting so this is a great chance to connect with your school board locally.
The February 2nd meeting agenda and meeting documents can be found at:

*The Zoom link is in the agenda.
Board meetings always begin with a public comment opportunity at 6:30 pm.
At this week's meeting, the board will have a follow-up discussion to our last meeting where we had a wide ranging conversation with state legislators. Specifically, we will focus on the unprecedented $90 million surplus in the state education fund. There are a range of opinions floating around on the issue, including everything from returning half the surplus to taxpayers via a rebate to reinvesting 100% of the surplus back into our students and schools (i.e., student mental health supports, staffing levels, technical schools, etc.). Following that, we will discuss community input received by the board on the spending of ARP ESSER funds (American Rescue Plan - Elementary and Secondary Emergency Education Relief fund). We will also receive a Finance Committee update; note, the Finance Committee will convene @ RVS on Wednesday @ 5:30 p.m. prior to the full board meeting - this is also an open public meeting.
Feel free to reach out to your MRPS Roxbury School Board Directors, Kristen Getler (kristengetler@mpsvt.org) and Rhett Williams (rhettwilliams@mpsvt.org), with questions or concerns.
In Appreciation,
Kristen Getler and Rhett Williams
