As a community service project for the town of Wallingford, the Wallingford Memorial Rotary Club is hosting an on-line Candidate Forum for any Wallingford residents running for a contested seat on the Select Board or the Mill River Unified Union School District Board. The meeting will be held remotely on Thursday, February 17 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, with a break half-way through to bring in the next set of candidates. Since this will not be an audience-participation meeting, anyone who would like to ask questions of any of the candidates may submit them to the Wallingford Town Administrator, Sandi Switzer, at townadmin@wallingfordvt.com by Thursday, February 10 at 4:00 PM. The Forum moderator will be responsible for asking all questions. Anyone considering a run for either board has until Monday, January 24 at 5:00 PM to submit the necessary forms. Call the Town Administrator at 802-446-2336 if you would like more information. Once the list of candidates has been formalized, we will send each of the candidates an invitation to participate in the Forum, and will hold a brief on-line meeting prior to the Forum to ensure that all candidates are able to sign in successfully. By bringing back a Wallingford tradition in a new form, we hope to make civic engagement during this pandemic easier for all residents. Please send an email if you have any questions. Thank you.
