Ken Rapp will facilitate a 12-week study based on a Ligonier Ministries teaching series entitled Sermon on the Mount. This study is based on the gospel of Matthew, chapters 5 - 7. Each week we will watch a short video presentation by Dr. Sinclair Ferguson, and afterwards the group will discuss the main points of the lesson.
This weekly study will kick off on Tuesday, February 8 at 6:30 pm, meeting at Grace Bible Church, 856 Moscow Rd, Stowe, VT 05672. Please consider joining us! PLEASE NOTE THE START DATE WAS DELAYED TO FEB 8.
The Sermon on the Mount is probably the best-known section of the entire Bible. Yet it is also one of the least understood parts of the teaching of Jesus Christ. 'It is not a sermon about an ideal life in an ideal world', writes Sinclair Ferguson, 'but about living the kingdom life in a fallen world.' It answers some of the most pressing questions that every Christian encounters: What is a Christian? Does the Law of God still have a place in the Christian life? How can I learn to pray? How can I learn self-discipline? Why am I a prisoner to anxiety?
This study will answer those questions and more as it explains and applies Jesus' teaching for Christians struggling to live like Christ in the modern world.
