The City Council will be holding the 2nd public hearing on the proposed budget, proposed bonds, and proposed ballot items this THURSDAY (not the normal Wednesday) night, Jan 20th. Based on present city and school budget proposals, the overall property tax rate for residents is projected to increase by only 1.1% from last year. This is the lowest overall change since 2016 and, before that, 2011.

The Council will also hear the final audit report, discuss whether to continue membership in the Central Vermont Public Safety Authority (CVPSA), consider whether to continue the current mask mandate, and receive an update on the city's strategic plan.
