First Anniversary of the Treaty Prohibiting Nuclear Weapons

What was once a dream is now in the process of becoming a reality. On January 22, 2021, the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) entered into force and the international community declared nuclear weapons to be outlawed.

In Burlington, events marking the one year anniversary are scheduled for the corner S. Prospect and Main St. Friday Jan. 21, 8:30 - 9:15 am, and
……at a booth in the UVM Davis Center (first floor lobby) Friday Jan. 21, 11am – 2 pm.

These events are part of a nationwide effort to mark the new reality. Please join us.

We are calling on the United States to take immediate steps to join the Ban Treaty, and we are calling on the VT House of Representatives to support JRH 7, a resolution calling for Vermont to refuse the basing of any nuclear weapons delivery systems here. Passing this would mean Vermont speaks with a unified voice against preparing to wage a nuclear war.
