Are you interested in learning more about the soil on your property? Want to know more about soil science and green stormwater practices from a Vermont expert?

Join the Franklin County Stormwater Collaborative and Friends of Northern Lake Champlain on Wednesday, January 12th, at 5:30pm to learn about how soil composition affects water quality and stormwater runoff in the Lake Champlain basin. We'll also discuss how to implement do-it-yourself green stormwater practices, such as rain gardens. Katy Dynarski, Projects Coordinator at the Franklin County Natural Resources Conservation District, will give a short presentation on soil science and soil testing. Holly Greenleaf, Principal Designer at Greenleaf Design LLC, will discuss why managing stormwater is important and what you can do at home to soak up and filter excess stormwater.

This workshop is part of an ongoing workshop series hosted by the Franklin Stormwater Collaborative and the Friends of Northern Lake Champlain. Future topics will include: green stormwater projects, water quality in Lake Champlain, installing rain gardens and building rain barrels for your property!
