Thursday morning on Central Vermont Community Radio: Why are sales of non-alcoholic beers growing so fast? And the Cross Vermont trail association celebrates bridging the Winooski.
9:00 - 10:00 am
The beer industry publication Brewbound has declared makers of non-alcoholic beer the 2021 craft brewery of the year. About Athletic Brewing they say, "The non-alcoholic beer maker has taken a stigmatized segment of the beer market and transformed it into a growth sector that is creating new occasions for the beer category." With the holidays approaching, and (for some people) dry January, we'll talk with Athletic's Matt Place about why people are buying more non-alcoholic beer, how the Connecticut-based brewery got its start thanks to the Vermont-based college beer education of a founder, and more.

It was many years in the making, but the Cross Vermont Trail Association has finally bridged the Winooski for walkers, runners, cyclists, skiers, and other non-car traffic at a key site outside of Montpelier. Director Greg Western will talk about that and other trail work they've done this year, about when the bridge will officially open, and their plans for next year.
