A message from the Health Department:

On May 14, Governor Shumlin put out a press release announcing a Community Forum on Opiate Addiction to be held at the Statehouse on June 16th (http://governor.vermont.gov/newsroom-drug-forum-announcement ). Space is limited at the Statehouse event, but we want to ensure to engage as diverse a cross-section of community partners as possible. We are particularly interested in having representation from local government officials, youth and individuals personally affected by opiate addiction. All those interested will be invited to participate in a regional follow up meeting on July 16.

Please help us get the word out by sending this information through your communication channels. Anyone who would like to be considered as a participant in the Governor’s forum should RSVP to the Department of Health District Office (AHS.VDHOLHBarre@state.vt.us or 802-479-4200 option 5) by Friday, May 23. We will follow up with all interested individuals as we continue this valuable conversation.
