Jan Cannon Pottery Open Studio
When: December 11th & 12th, 2021, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
I will have a large selection of my pottery available at an Open Studio at 19 Garen Road in Charlotte, on Saturday and Sunday, December 11th and 12th, from 10 until 4. If you can't make it then I'm always open by appointment or chance. I really appreciate your support. Please call/text (802) 870-6670, or email me if you need directions or more information.
My pottery can be found in The British Museum, the Crocker Art Museum, and many private collections.
I began a 20-year-long career as a studio potter in Boston in the 1980s. I studied ceramics at the Radcliffe Pottery Studio in Somerville, MA, and traveled extensively throughout Asia studying ceramics in China, Korea, Japan and Thailand. I was an artist-in-residence in Calhoun College at Yale University and director of the ceramics program at Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1993 I established my pottery studio in Charlotte, Vermont. I have served on the board of directors for the Vermont Crafts Council, The Ferrisburgh Artisan's Guild, and the Shelburne Art Center.
Although I am no longer making pottery (I now work exclusively as a photographer and documentary filmmaker), I am selling my work again. A small sampling of it is available online for purchase through Etsy (jancannonpottery). In my studio, though, I have hundreds of pieces for sale. Also, buying at my studio is considerably cheaper than buying on Etsy, as on Etsy shipping is included in the price and can be as much as $75. In addition to viewing items on Etsy more work can be seen at www.jancannonpottery.com.
I will also have photographs available for sale as well. I hope you can make it.
