2021 has brought some new challenges to us all, but mostly our communities most vulnerable. While this is a fun and festive time for most of us, we have neighbors here in the Islands (North Hero, Grand Isle and South Hero) that are worried about how they will be able to afford toys for their children and a nice Christmas dinner.
Caring and Sharing/Operation Happiness is a non denominational program which works in conjunction with Operation Happiness in St. Albans here to help these less fortunate families. We will provide food for a full Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings and then some. Families with children will also receive toys that will be collected through Toys for Kids of Vermont.

This year's distribution of food and toys will take place on December 18 (Saturday) by appointment and drive through at St. Rose of Lima. Help with wrapping toys is needed on December 17 (Friday) from 9am-?. Help with boxing up food is needed on December 17 (Friday) from 6pm-?. Just show up with lots of energy and your face mask at St. Rose of Lima, rt 2, South Hero (across the street from Keeler Bay Variety)
• South Hero, Grand Isle and No. Hero residents only.
• Distribution of food and toys. Recipients must make an appointment for a drive through pick up of their boxes at St. Rose of Lima. Call Val Hunter at 372-5595.
