Our last class of the fall season, "Finding Our Place: Mapping for Genealogy," by Suzanne Blanchard will be held on December 11th, starting at noon (EST).
Genealogy is a lot like real estate – it's all about location.
- "Where were they born?"
- "Which towns taxed his land?"
- "Why aren't her probate records in Essex County?"
The paths to solving so many family mysteries often begin with an understanding of the land – migration routes, settlement patterns, proprietors, boundary changes, waterways, land plats, deeds, and more. Maps are indispensable tools for analyzing our ancestors' relationships to the land.
This class is all about maps: finding them, using them, making them, and sharing them. Maps are records with invaluable information about our ancestors. We all know historic maps can help us find our ancestors, but what we may not realize is that mapping technology has now made it possible for even the armchair genealogist to travel the world in search of their ancestors and collaborate globally, all without an advanced degree. Join Suzanne to explore the world through maps and mapping.
This webinar will be held on Zoom, the class fee is $10 and it includes a handout.
