Tuesday, November 30th is what's known as Giving Tuesday, launched in 2012 and co-founded by the United Nations Fund to encourage people to DO GOOD. Giving Tuesday serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about the work of local nonprofits so to that end, and because I ran out of allowable posts for ECT : ), I'd like to highlight the work of The Elmore Community Trust and ask you to consider making a donation on Giving Tuesday (or any day) to help support the amazing work they are doing to help preserve and protect The Elmore Store.
As we continue to move more towards online shopping and virtual connections, as a mental health counselor I want to put in a plug for the importance of real time, in-person connections that allow us to feel seen and heard, as well as encourage healthy, intimate relationships and a sense of belonging. Community-based stores, like the Elmore Store, are critical for shaping health and wellness for our towns, economies, families, and individuals.
Yet another reason to support the work of the Elmore Community Trust!
Also, if you donate on Giving Tuesday and you'd like to keep your hard-earned dollars in our local economy you can purchase ECT T-shirts (designed by an ECT Board Member) and get $5 off.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the people and places that make Lamoille County the special place that it is!
Go to www.elmorecommunitytrust.org to find out more details about their work, to donate, and to buy a T-shirt (or 2 or 3) -- 'Tis the season!
