Orwell Area Artists Gather to Provide Holiday Art and Fine Craft Sale

Getting ready for the 2021 Holiday Season? Here is a great opportunity to pick up some unique gifts for those on your list (including yourself?!!). Over a dozen artists will hold a Holiday Art Market on December 4 and 5, 10 am to 5pm. This is an eclectic group of artists with work including pottery, painting, fiber art, pressed botanical collage, silver jewelry, needle felting, wreaths, stained glass, wool and more. Host Stacey Stanhope points out that "the bigger art events might have been canceled but we are here!" Stanhope encourages all to shop local this season, which provides customers with unique, not-found-elsewhere gifts and also supports the local art community.

To help you get into the holiday spirit, here is a sampling of what you will find at the Holiday Market: Stratford House Pottery will offer a wide range of handmade functional and decorative ceramic pieces; Cindy Sayers Watrous will be selling needle felted paintings and ornaments made from wool from the sheep she raises; Beth Murphy will share her collages, cards and prints of collages made primarily with pressed botanicals; Karen Kuehner Deets will offer stained glass; Kristen Judkins will be selling hand dyed yarn, roving, knitted goods and sheepskins from her flock of Finn and Finn Shetland sheep; Wenda Curtis will be selling her fine art jewelry; Carol Little will show her oil and pastel Vermont landscape. Additionally next door, Muffy Kashkin Grollier will be selling her "paintings with wool" needle felting alongside Gloria Chandler, who will have maple products; Jennifer Cyr's children's books, and Karen Hescock's beautiful wreathes.

The Holiday Art Market will be held at 294 and 310 VT Route 22A, Orwell, VT 05760 (just south of the Orwell Gas N Go and flashing caution light) December 4 and 5th from 10 am to 5pm. For more information, contact Stacey Stanhope at 770-853-1099 or 802-948-2105.
