Human Rights Day Arts & Essay Collection NOW OPEN for SUBMISSIONS! ❤️

Create and email your entries - art, poetry, music, essay, etc. - by December 9 to recreation@miltonvt.gov. A picture of your completed work or a link to where your entry can be found works as well.

Showcase practical or inspirational examples of what it means to you to reduce inequalities, advance human rights, foster a resilient and just community, and celebrate the protection of inalienable human rights.

On December 10, we will share and highlight selected entries.

This December 10th, we celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the United Nation's adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UHDR). The 2021 theme for Human Rights Day, set by the United Nations General Assembly, is: EQUALITY - Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights. This year's Human Rights Day theme relates to 'Equality' and Article 1 of the UDHR – "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights." Visit the Human Rights Day page of the Town's website at miltonvt.gov/humanrightsday.
