Tonight, Tuesday 11/16 at 6:30 the Barre Town Select board will discuss continuing the logging contract in our Town forest for this upcoming winter.

This issue has been discussed multiple times since last spring and many people have shared their concerns with the mechanized logging that was done last year. If you have visited the forest in the last year, then you are aware of how the mechanized logging drastically altered the forest! In our quadrant we lost three sets if trails, tons of beautiful old trees, and most likely a vernal pool.

Please consider joining or reaching out to select board members with your concerns with continuing with this type of logging in our forest.
