Please join me, Senator Patrick Leahy, and Congressman Peter Welch in attending the annual Howard Plant VFW Post 782 Veterans Day Commemoration in Battery Park tomorrow, Thursday, November 11 at 11:00 am. The timing of the event originates in the end of World War I, when the armistice between the Allies and Germany began at 11:00 am on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the year.
I have attended this event almost every year that I have been mayor, and have found it to be a very moving way to acknowledge the sacrifice that many in our community - including many City employees - have made through their service to our country. I hope that you will consider joining me this year.
