This Thursday, as part of the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum's Red Bench series "40 Years Later: How the First Snowboarding Event in 1982 at Woodstock, VT Shaped Snowboarding" will be held via Zoom.
Before the Olympics, before the X Games, and before the U.S. Open, there was the 1982 "National Snow Surfing Championship" held at Suicide Six in Woodstock, VT. In 1982, Moderator Paul Graves launched the first national snowboarding event that would go on to become the longest-running event in snowboarding history. 40 years later, Paul brings us a new event - "The OG Invitational". The best in the snowboard industry, and many of the original riders from the 1982 event will gather once again at Suicide Six to celebrate the 40th Anniversary this coming February.
Paul has gathered his friends, teammates, and "old guy" riders from the 1982 event to sit around the virtual Red Bench this Thursday to share stories, reminisce and share hopes for the new event. Join us on Thursday, November 11th and meet these snowboarding icons and ask them questions.
This event is complimentary but we encourage and appreciate a $10 donation to help support this series. Register for the event here, https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Y7f-57kzSu6V4qHg1TdNyg
