Final Reminder!
On November 11th, the Colchester-Milton Rotary is holding two celebrations to honor and recognize the local heroes in our community. These include our veterans as well as health care workers, first responders, teachers and all of our essential workers and neighbors who have supported this community during the pandemic.
Our Rotary has an ongoing project known as "Operation Flags For Heroes" to honor our many community heroes and raise funds for Rotary's many community initiatives. "Flags For Heroes" allows sponsors to have a US flag displayed prominently in the community with a plaque to honor their chosen hero. The program has grown from twenty flags in one location to over 100 flags in three locations in Colchester and Milton. It will continue in the coming years and we encourage interested sponsors to subscribe by contacting cmrotary.org.
The Milton celebration will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, Nov. 11th at flag display the entrance to Milton on Route 7 at the site generously donated to us by RR Charlebois.
Invited guests include our Town Manager, honored heroes, members of our Police, Fire and Rescue, Vermont National Guard members, sponsors and interested community members and representatives. Our speaker is Col. Michael Morgan (ret.) who is a Milton Select Board member as well as State Representative. There will be a military honor Guard to present the colors to recognize the heroes and Rotary will making a donation to Josh's House, a local organization to provide assistance to local veterans.
A second celebration will be held in Colchester at 12 Noon at Dick Mazza's Store. Please come join us to recognize all of the people in our community who have helped us make it through the last difficult year!
