Astronomy Notes – Wonders of the Universe

Past event
Nov 5, 2021, 6 to 9 PM

The Lamoille County Star Gazers club is pleased to announce a public observing night at the renovated Grout Observatory at Peoples Academy in Morrisville. The theme is "Wonders of the Universe". We'll look at Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus, plus objects outside the solar system - double stars, star clusters, and distant galaxies. We'll be using the renovated telescope in the observatory, plus various other telescopes. We're hoping for better weather this time.

The session will take place on Friday, Nov. 5, starting at 6 PM with Venus, then looking at the other objects as the sky gets darker, and ending at 8:30 PM. In case of overcast, the session will take place instead on Saturday, Nov. 6, same time. To check on the status of the session, see Front Porch Forum, listen for announcements on WLVB radio, or email lcvtsg@gmail.com.

Notes:

• The observatory is on the small knoll on the right as you drive up Copley Avenue and enter the circle in front of the main building.
• Park in the student parking lot by the bandshell.
• Watch your step on the path leading up to the observatory.
• Dress warmly. It will be cold out there.

Everyone is welcome!
