Relocalizing VT, Thursday: Randolph - Global Medicine

Past event
Nov 4, 2021, 9 to 10:30 AM

Thursday morning on Central Vermont Community Radio: Locally driven economic development includes recognizing the woman who plants flowers in Randolph; doctors read poetry to become better healers.

9:00 - 10:00 am
The Randolph Area Community Development Corporation is a people-powered economic development organization that is holding its annual member meeting via Zoom Thursday night, starting at 6 pm - and that means those of us interested in their work but who live outside Randolph can listen in! We'll talk with a staffer at the organization; Roz Burgess, who is receiving an award for her work planting flowerbeds around Randolph, and solar installer Kevin McCollister, one of the speakers at the event. We'll hear what community volunteers can do to make a place better to live, and what solarizing your electricity can do for your own bottom line.

What happens when medical workers engage with poetry and literature? How does connecting more with nature and other people help make us healthier? These are some of the questions that went into planning "Restoring the Balance Between Earth and Health," November 12-13. This free virtual symposium is open to anyone and will be recorded, for those who are not available in real time. Symposium organizers David Kopacz, M.D. and Jennifer Hartmark-Hill, M.D. will tell us what they expect to learn.
