Redistricting Listening Sessions: Public Meeting #1

Past event
Nov 1, 2021, 6 to 8 PM

Burlington is in the midst of reviewing populations in our voting wards. This process, known as redistricting, may result in changes to our current ward numbers, ward boundaries, & representatives to City Council. Redistricting is required by the U.S. Constitution after the U.S. Census, with the non-partisan goal of equalizing the populations among different voting districts. You can learn more about redistricting in Burlington & participate in the process by attending one of the three public meetings. The first public meeting is on November 1, at Contois Auditorium (6-8 pm). The Zoom link & calendar for the other two public meetings appear below.

I am the redistricting committee representative for Ward 5. Each Ward has one citizen rep who was selected during NPA meetings this fall. Contact me as needed. I hope you can attend one of these public "listening sessions". The Redistricting Committee will use public comments from these meetings, as well as future public surveys, to make suggestions on redistricting that the City Council will consider and adopt. Ultimately Burlington voters (& state government) will need to approve any redistricting changes (likely in November of 2022).
