The Board of Civil Authority (BCA) will meet on Monday November 1, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Calais Town Hall for an informational meeting to discuss the proposed legislative redistricting and reapportionment plan. As it pertains to Calais, the proposal creates a new district combining Calais, Woodbury, Worcester, and a portion of East Montpelier (see footnote below*) . There will be a short presentation outlining the proposed changes.
The Calais BCA invites Calais voters to participate in this informational event. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and provide public comment. The Calais BCA will also accept written comment until Monday November 8, 2021 via email to Calais.TownClerk@gmail.com or by mail to Calais Town Office, 3120 Pekin Brook Road, East Calais, VT 05650.
The BCA has until November 15, 2021 to submit its comments to the Legislative Apportionment Board.

* Footnote: Currently the Town of Calais is in the legislative district of WA-6, which includes the towns of Calais, Plainfield and Marshfield. This proposed change will move Calais to newly proposed WA-3.
