Nature - Galerie Provenance May 23rd

In preparing for my up coming solo show at Galerie Provenance in Middlebury Vermont, I created a slide show of the painting - Peaceful Pond. Watercolor on the porcelain-like surface of the archival claybord is very challenging. It does not absorb at all and there is very little control. It takes many layers of washes, put on, taken off, a journey of hanging in there over time until the final varnish. Color changes from the palette, wet, dry and varnished. My unique presentation is based on 40 years exploring, including experimental printmaking, lithography using large stones, intaglios (etching), to the development of layered watercolor on paper.
