"More than a Market: Finding Community in Local Markets of Burlington" October 30, 10:30-12noon
Join this tour to learn about migration stories through historical and present-day markets owned by people from around the world. These neighborhood markets have long served as the heart of their communities. Some markets have been in the same family for many generations and others expand the horizons of immigrants coming to the city and looking for a taste of home. Featured are historical markets on North Champlain St, Conger Ave, Pearl St. and North Ave. Our Group is limited to 8 participants.
This will be 1 ½ hour free tour on October 30, starting at 7 Pine St. and ending at 1 Intervale Ave. This tour is organized by the O.N.E. Community Center on Allen St in Burlington. Please register with Linda Cooper, flatlanderalso@gmail.com to enjoy this historical tour.
