The Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington is hosting a trail race!
WHEN?
Saturday November 6 (in-person race-day option, race starts at 10am)
Optional practice runs (or walks) before the race option starting now and continuing through Friday, November 5th (on-your-own, self-timed option, dawn-dusk)
WHO?
Open to both runners and walkers.
BONUS
If you go birding while walking, you can record that too.
HOW FAR?
There are a 3.6-mile and a 7.2-mile options.
HOW MUCH?
It's pay-what-you like to register (starting at free).
HOW HARD?
The trails go up and down from the Museum, and the route has been described as "difficult", "Sometimes steep", and "fun".
Last year's record was 34 minutes for a runner (we were in awe; the next runner was 44 minutes), and 13 bird species (recorded at eBird). There are lots of signs showing you which way to go.
Details, maps, and registration are at https://birdsofvermont.org/race-around-birds-2021/ (You can also register with paper forms at the Museum's front door.)
Please call or email the Birds of Vermont Museum if you have questions. Hope to see you there!!!
