The Henry Sheldon Museum invites the public and Sheldon Museum members to our virtual Annual Meeting on Monday, November 8 via Zoom. The evening features special guest speaker Alexander Wolff, journalist, historian, and author of the recently acclaimed book "Endpapers: A Family Story of Books, War, Escape, and Home."
The meeting begins at 6:00 pm and at 6:45, Wolff will present his talk titled "Riddling Out Endpapers." Wolff's remarks should be of interest to anyone eager to illuminate their ancestors' lives and times with primary source materials.
Wolff spent a year in Berlin, sifting through family letters and diaries and mining German archives, for his book Endpapers. In this presentation, he describes the process of researching and ultimately writing this saga about his book publisher grandfather, who fled the Nazis, and his father, who was left behind to fight for them. With surprising revelations from never-before-published family letters, diaries, and photographs, Endpapers is a moving and intimate family story, weaving a literary tapestry of the perils, triumphs, and secrets of history and exile.
The event is free; for more information and to register, go to https://www.henrysheldonmuseum.org/ or call 802-388-2117.
