Author Talk with Christina Caniyo - Bixby Library

Past event
Nov 6, 2021, 1 to 3 PM

Local author, Christina Caniyo, will be holding a book release gathering at the Bixby on her new novel, Doors of the Dreaming God. Join us in the Community Room on Saturday, Nov 6th from 1-3pm. Copies of the book will be available for sale and light snacks will be served.

Book Description:
It started innocently enough. A strange seed planted in Kira's yard. A cup of hot chocolate spilled in the soil. But with these two acts, Kira has torn open the gates between Earth and the magical world of Gardin–those haunting stone Eyes in the basement of her grandmother's house. What was once an exclusive passage for her and Angras, her magical counterpart, now stands open for all. The act has created a dangerous imbalance in the spiritual world that could tear apart both realms.

Before Kira can consider the consequences of her actions, she is kidnapped by the self-proclaimed queen of Gardin–Lorona. Her capture will set another dangerous chain reaction, awakening within her a dark power–and a darker secret.

Could these powers be the key to saving both of these worlds or will they consume her and destroy everyone she loves?

Author Biography:
Christina Caniyo: raised in Vermont, my stories were inspired by the small New England city of Vergennes. It's old homes, gothic churches and cemeteries have fed my imagination. My first debut novel Death and the Underhouse came out in 2017, the first in a trilogy. My path has led me to become a yoga teacher, a chocolatier and an apothecarist; moonlighting as a writer. I love taking these passions along with my love of classic horror and young adult fantasy to the next level.
