Good news! The police department has approved a "soft" closure of all the interior streets in Five Sisters for Halloween trick-or-treating. The following streets will be closed to thru traffic from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on October 31: Margaret, Marion, Ledgemere, Caroline, Catherine, Charlotte, and Locust Terr/Hayward (south of Howard).
A "soft" closure means that:
1. The entrances to the closed street(s) will be blocked only with traffic cones and small laminated signs on posts;
2. Nothing can be placed in the street that would block emergency vehicle passage; and
3. Residents of the closed streets are explicitly allowed to drive (slowly and attentively) to and from their residences as necessary
A huge thank you to the five volunteers who invested a total of 16 hours in collecting signatures from residents for the permit. Of the 153 residents that volunteers were able to find at home and talk with (out of 189 residences total), 151 added their signature in support of this closure. That's over 98% approval!
