Spiders Are Good Halloween Event

Past event
Oct 31, 2021, 4 to 6 PM

On Sunday, October 31st, Wells Village Library will hold special hours from 4:00 until 6:00 PM for its annual Halloween event.

Dressed as a Spider Queen, Gina will hand out treat bags and illustrated fact cards about Vermont's native spiders and why we should appreciate rather than fear them. In addition, there will be a fun drawing for a large witch hat filled with Wellsmere Farm baked goods. It's like a harvest cornucopia only rather than a goat's horn, we're using a lovely, velvet witch hat. And, instead of fruits and vegetables, we'll fill ours with cookies and brownies. In addition to the witch hat drawing, there will be a "Find the Skeleton" game. One lucky guest who's first to find a spider skeleton hidden inside the library will win a free copy of Eileen Spinelli's beautiful book, Sophie's Masterpiece: A Spider's Tale.

Everyone is welcome – kids, teens, and adults! There will be Halloween music and, per tradition, the Mr. Ding-A-Ling ice cream truck has been invited.
