In Peter Lindenfeld's words:
"My life in Vienna ended when I was 13 in 1938. That was when I became a refugee. Being a refugee at that time has colored my life in important ways. That feeling continues . Being a refugee is still a part of my life and I mean that in the best possible way. It has made me more aware of other people, it has made me more aware of difficulties that people are in, more in touch with different communities, different origins and that has continued to stay with me.
"It has even colored my life as a physicist and physics teacher, when I saw that physics was regarded as a difficult subject by a lot of people, abstract and mathematical. I have spent a great deal of my life making it less so and to make it more accessible, more transparent and more human."
My father will talk more about this and other aspects of his life in his Zoom reading this Sunday October 24th at 4pm. If you would like to attend the reading and talk please register at https://peterlindenfeldfragmentsoftime.eventbrite.com. More details about the reading and book are there and once you register you will be sent the Zoom link.
Peter plans to describe some of what is in the book, read a couple of passages and entertain questions you may have.
The presentation is sponsored by "Everyone's Books", an independent bookseller in Brattleboro, Vermont. The book can be purchased there and on online sites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Peter is the father of Naomi Lindenfeld, potter, ceramics teacher and longtime Brattleboro resident.
