Past event
Oct 23, 7:30 AM to 12 AM, Oct 24, 2021

Capital City Concerts and Cathedral Arts presents Boston's Borromeo Quartet on October 23 at 7:30PM at Bethany United Church of Christ in Montpelier, and Sunday, October 24, 3PM at Saint Paul's Cathedral in Burlington. The quartet has been hailed for its "edge-of-the-seat performances," by the Boston Globe, which called it "simply the best."

This beloved ensemble returns for performances featuring Beethoven's transcendent String Quartet Op. 132. This work is Beethoven's powerful musical journey through illness and healing - timely and appropriate as we emerge from the pandemic. Also on the program is Adolphus Hailstork's fascinating String Quartet "Swing Low Sweet Chariot." Flutist Karen Kevra joins them for Gluck's paradisal Minuet and Dance of the Blessed Spirits.

To ensure audience safety, seating will be limited to half capacity so we strongly recommend buying tickets in advance at http://www.capitalcityconcerts.org The concert may also be attended remotely and watched on-demand. Pay-as-you tickets start at $15. Use this link to learn more: https://www.capitalcityconcerts.org/tickets.html

We invite you to listen to this free audio episode which will whet you appetite for the concert with a 9 minute dive into Beethoven's transcendent Op. 132 String Quartet Hymn of Thanksgiving in the words of Borromeo Quartet violinist Nick Kitchen.
