Alice Wuertele, Francophile and cinémaphile, is presenting two French films during the month of October, and will facilitate audience discussion after the viewing. In addition to being a French teacher, Alice has been a member and devotee of Catamount for 18 years.
On Wednesday, October 20th, The Widow of St. Pierre is set in 1850 on one of two French islands south of Newfoundland. A strong-willed woman, played by the amazing Juliette Binoche, sets in motion the destiny of a prisoner fated to be executed.
