"Vermont View with Dave Q," the popular series of illustrated history talks on subjects related to Vermont offers a new installment this Thursday at 11AM at the Manchester Community Library. The topic: Our Agricultural Roots. Vermont's pastoral landscape is shaped by its agricultural roots, with telltale clues of its farming past told through stone walls, antique farm equipment and bright red barns. Historian Dave Q will recount the way it was not so long ago working on a family farm and the transition Vermont has made from "primitive" practices in dairying and agriculture to today's labor-saving technological devices. He asks, "What have we gained and what have we lost in the process?" The talk is free. It will be held on site at the library where masking is mandated to ensure the safety of the community.
