On Tuesday October 26th between the hours of 11:00am and 12:00pm, Green Mountain Power (GMP) in conjunction with Chittenden Emergency Management, will be conducting a "growl" test of the warning sirens in town. A "growl" test is a short 10-15 second burst of the siren to ensure they are all online and functioning properly when activated. The growl test will NOT be a full cycle of the siren and therefore won't be at a volume level expected when a full test is administered.

Emergency management team members will be monitoring areas throughout town listening for the strength of the "growl" test. A full test of the siren system will occur at a later date. We will send out a notification when that has been scheduled.

Siren locations: high tension powerline off Shadow Lane (Pittsford), GMP substation on Powerhouse Road, town lot just north of Wooden Barrel Store on Chittenden Road, and GMP lot on Dam Road near Birch Hill.

No action is needed by residents for this test.
