Did you know bats can eat up to 1,200 mosquitoes an hour?

Learn more about the wonders of bats underneath the full moon this Wednesday, 10/20 at Lake Paran for our free Full Moon Bat Chat!

Local bat expert and VT Fish and Wildlife technician, Kerry Monahan, will lead a talk about Vermont bat species followed by a night time walk where guests will use a handheld bat detector to listen for bat calls. There will be a real bat box and a bat mount.

This will be a fun, educational event suitable for kids and adults of all ages to kick off International Bat Week and celebrate the Halloween season. The much misunderstood bat is an important mammal as they are both pollinators and pest controllers for our ecosystem. It is vital that we all learn how to protect them!
