Dorset Architecture: Befores and Afters, Additions & Alterations
Have you ever wondered about any of the houses that you drive by daily - how old are they really? was it always that color? why are there so many white houses with green shutters in Dorset?
The Dorset Historical Society's October Third Thursday Lunchtime Lecture, given by Judy Harwood and Michele Pagan, will answer these questions and many more. The talk will illustrate the houses of North, South, East and West Dorset, as well as East Rupert and South Village. Basic styles will be identified, along with before and after photos of many Dorset houses which have been changed over the years. Even if you don't own an old house, you will learn how to identify some of them and perhaps recognize their later additions.
The talk starts at noon on Thursday, October 21 at the Bley House Museum of the Dorset Historical Society. Bring a bag lunch, we'll provide dessert and liquid refreshment. For more information, call 802.867.0331 or e-mail info@dorsetvthistory.org
