What: New England Tree Climbing Championship: The best climbers from the Northeast will converge on Burlington to compete for the Master Climber title, which will qualify them to enter the International “Olympics of Tree Climbing” in Wisconsin. When: Saturday, May 31
Where: Oakledge Park, in Burlington, at the end of Flynn Avenue, follow the signs to the upper pavilion.
What Time: 7 am–5 pm. Preliminary Tree climbing competitions are from 7 am-1 pm.
If you can’t come all day, watch the finalists in the Master’s Challenge from 1-5 pm.
What else: Dance performance by On the Border Morris; Tree Planting Ceremony to honor Burlington’s 20th year Tree City USA designation at 1 pm. Kids Tree Climb from 10 am – 1 pm.
How much: The climbing event is free; parking is by permit or $6 for residents, $8 for non-residents (no cost for walkers and bikers).
