Good news...the town food shelf is moving to the former town office/country store, located next to the post office. Starting in June, the food shelf will be open on Wednesdays from 3 to 7pm and on Fridays from 10am to 4 pm.
Open House is on the afternoon of June 1st---hours to be announced. Stop by and check out the center and drop off a food donation to help stock the terrific shelf space.
Your help is needed!
--moving day is May 30th and moving help is needed
--volunteers are needed to staff the food shelf (once or twice a month)
--others volunteers are needed to shop, seek donations, & help with fundraising.
If you are interested in volunteering in any way, please call Dona Norton (453-4476)
Another idea is to "plant a row" in your garden for the food shelf....onions, carrots, etc. The produce will be welcome throughout the summer and fall!
Food donations are always needed. These can be dropped off at the food shelf when it is open, or non-perishables can be left at the town offices. Suggested needs include: mayo, ketchup & mustard, pasta & sauces, canned fruit, creamy peanut butter, jelly, cereal, juice and baking basics. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated, especially to purchase meat, dairy. and necessary basics.
Much thanks to everyone who makes the foodshelf possible!
