Want to see a great show but a little tired of Scrooge and nutcrackers and red-nosed reindeer? Middlebury Community Players Foundations offers up the perfect break from the holidays, HOW TO EAT LIKE A CHILD And Other Lessons In Not Being a Grown-Up. Opening Friday, December 8 at 7:00pm at the Middlebury Union High School Auditorium with matinees on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th at 2:00pm. Only $7!

Tickets are on sale through the Town Hall Theater Box Office at townhalltheater.org, in person at THT, 68 South Pleasant Street, Middlebury (802-382-9222) Monday-Saturday, noon to 5:00pm, or at the door at Middlebury Union High School starting one hour before show times.

It’s kids versus the adults in this revue, and guess who wins? The all-child cast will give you lessons in things like how to beg for a dog, how to torture your sister, how to act after being sent to your room, and how to laugh hysterically. The charming and witty music score by John Forster enhances and underscores the comedy and has made this show a favorite ever since it premiered in 1981. The best-selling book by Delia Ephron was adapted by Judith Kahan into a one-hour special starring Dick Van Dyke for NBC. The television show was then adapted to the live stage three years later, opening in New York in 1984. Since then, countless productions have been mounted across the country, making this one of the most enduring family shows in recent theatrical history.

Director and musical director Kerianne Severy, with choreography by Ellie Kiel and mime direction by Marshall Eddy. Middlebury Community Players Foundations is the “educational wing” of the Players, created to introduce young people and their families to theater as part of the Players’ ongoing mission of supporting and promoting theater in Addison County.
