Mark your calendars - June 7, 10-5 p.m. at the Vermont Militia Museum and Library, there will be a D-Day Remembrance event that is free and open to the public. If you have never been to the Museum, or even if you have, you will be amazed with the memorabilia and artifacts displayed within and outside from U.S. conflicts dating back to the Revolutionary War through today in Iraq and Afghanistan. On this 70th Anniversary (June 6, 1944) of the landing on the beaches of Normandy of the largest amphibious invasion to date, the Museum volunteer staff will conduct tours, offer several activities for the children, talks will be offered by Historian Brian Lindner and the Rev. "Skip" Baltz, a formal ceremony will recognize WWII veterans and the veterans of all conflicts, and there will be a performance by the magnificent 40th Army Band. For more information, call the Museum at 338-3360 (Tu-Thur). The Museum is located at Camp Johnson, off Rte. 15, in Colchester. All are welcome to attend.
